Susan LaScala Wood
Susan is a Freelance Creative Director and Writer in the advertising industry, where she has spent over 25 years helping to create meaningful work for a number of highly-respected companies and brands. Some of the most meaningful have been for those in the healthcare industry, including J&J, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, CVS Women’s Health Services, LifeScan, Astra Zeneca, and Versalie (a brand she felt truly understood her…and her occasional peri-menopausal mood swings).
Susan has a BA in Journalism from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, specializing in advertising. She also worked on her portfolio after college at Portfolio Center and The Creative Circus, both in Atlanta, GA.
While Susan has always had an interest in women’s health issues, her interest has grown immensely as she’s discovered how little women — and people in general — truly know about menopause. She hopes to illuminate understanding of this stage in life and help normalize conversation surrounding it.
When Susan is not wrapping her head around strategies and coming up with ideas, she can be found soaking up as much quality time as she can get with her now teenage kids — even though they may playfully poke fun at her for her occasional foggy brain.
